Traditionalists and Baby Boomers grew up with – radio, television and the fax machine which were still developing, as they started and built their businesses. Now, those in this age group are using computers, cell phones, the internet and other variations of these technologies. The workplace is changing at an ever-increasing pace, and everything seems new to them. Now, consider Generation X and Millennials. The same technologies that are new to Traditionalists and Boomers are a part of life for the younger generations – which have been for some time.

As we all know, cell phones are now the predominant form of interpersonal communication, which varies significantly in the way they are used between generations. As an example, let’s assume me as a younger generation and my Dad as the older generation. I use my phones for a variety of activities such as taking photos, texting, going online, playing games, and even recording and watching videos while my dad on the other hand, restrict the use of these devices to fewer and fewer activities, with his personal reasons.

While teenagers and young adults (under age 30) use the Internet to find information, socialize, shop and perhaps conduct business, older users visit government websites or seek financial information online. Teens uses the social media platform as a conversation space and an outlet for self-expression, aimed largely at building new relationships while adults, use social media to maintain existing relationships.

Social media is another area where there is an age difference; a difference in the type of social media applications favoured. Youngsters seems more prevalent in social media applications such as Facebook and Twitter while adults dominate tumblr, Instagram and Pinterest.

It is clear and the context really helped me to see a different perspectives in different categorized of generation using the technology. I like how you summarized by the pictures as I personally think the pictures is impressive and have more detail. I also like how you use yourself as an example for younger generation and I also agree with you on people under age 30 use the internet for more purposes than older users. Furthermore, your point on world vigorously is about the ability to comply with new digital media makes a lot of sense.
